Corpus Christi at-large City Council member Debbie Lindsey Opel said goodbye at the council’s meeting today.

Opel completed the term she was appointed to in June 2017.

The at-large seat became vacant when Joe McComb was elected mayor in a May 2017 special election.

McComb told Lindsey-Opel she brought experience and stability to the council at a difficult time for the city after the resignation of former Mayor Dan McQueen.

And for her part, the former at-large council member said she was proud of working to resolve the utility billing errors, creation of the North Beach task force and working on a long-term water supply for the city.
