Alex Bregman’s umpiring career was meant to be funny — and it was

Umpiring at youth baseball games sometimes leaves a lot to be desired.

Houston Astros star third baseman Alex Bregman learned a little about life on the other side during his off-season break.

The MLB All-Star and former Hooks player went undercover as home plate umpire “Sam Eisenburg” in a recent Instagram video. He consciously went into the game intent on making bad calls and wanted to find out the reaction.

The results showed that Bregman probably shouldn’t give up on his playing career — just yet.
