Comedian Louis C.K. is catching much criticism after his recent joke about survivors of the Parkland shooting.

During a recent set at the Governor’s Comedy Club in Levittown, N.Y. that was linked onYou Tube, the disgraced comedian’s comments were directed at survivors of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting last February that left 17 people dead in Parkland, Fla.

C.K. said he was generally unimpressed by the younger generation now that he has turned 51, calling them “boring.”

“You’re not interesting because you went to a high school where kids got shot,” C.K. said. “Why does that mean I have to listen to you? How does that make you interesting? You didn’t get shot. You pushed some fat kid in the way. Now I gotta listen to you talking?”

The father of one of the students killed in the Parkland shooting ripped into the comedian after leaked audio from the comedian’s recent set included a joke about the massacre.

Fred Guttenberg — who lost his 14-year-old daughter Jamie  in the attack, blistered C.K.  in remarks reported by TMZ.com.

“To anyone who knows Louis CK, please deliver this message for me,” Guttenberg said. “My daughter was killed in the Parkland shooting. My son ran from the bullets. My wife and I deal with loss every day. Why don’t you come to my house and try out your new pathetic jokes?”

Louis C.K’s comments also earned a rebuke from Parkland survivor Aalayah Eastmond on social media. Eastmond testified before Congress earlier this year.

Some of his supporters might say that Louis C.K. is only expressing his opinions in his standup routine.

But common decency to the families of the victims and surviving classmates should have convinced him otherwise.
