Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant’s brief playing history with the New Orleans Saints ended before he even played a game.

After he was released by Dallas last April, Bryant waited until early November until he hooked up with the Saints.

Bryant sustained a torn Achilles tendon in practice before he ever played a game with New Orleans. And, according to Bryant, he almost never played with the NFC Southern Division leaders.

In an interview with the Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan, Bryant wasn’t returning his agent’s calls about teams who might want to sign him.

But after receiving a text message from the rapper Jay-Z, who told him he still could play in the NFL.

“Get your — down to New Orleans,” Jay-Z texted him, Bryant said.

Bryant turned 30 last month and likely still could play in the league if he wants. It will be interesting to see if the Saints will give him another chance — or where Jay-Z tells him to go for the 2019 season.
