At the San Patricio County Fairgrounds, about 115 pigs showed off their training in front of crowds and judges.

However, this event is not your average livestock show. This is the 2nd annual ‘Show with Your Heart’ livestock exhibition.

This pig competition stays close to Lyndi West.

Her 6-year-old daughter, Taylee, was born with congenital heart defects hitting her main two arteries.

“She had a lot of physical therapy prior to..so we encourage her to try everything and do everything and let her find her own strengths,” says West.

West says Taylee’s first steps were in the pig barn, so it’s only fitting to have this competition doing what she loves, raising awareness for children who have heart defects.

100 percent the proceeds will go to the Children’s Heart Foundation.

Winning first place in her division 15-year-old Cyerra Lackey says she has special memories with her friend Taylee like reading Taylee’s favorite books to her.

Lackey says supporting little Taylee comes with no doubt.

“I love her to death and like it’s just, it helps me to realize I’m helping out a good cause and I love her it’s helping her out it’s amazing,” Lackey says.

This livestock show even reached folks from different parts of the state, all to take part in this support.
