The North Beach Association received a grant of about $100,000 for play area at Dolphin Park from the Rebuild Texas Fund.
Kaboom, a non-profit organization, is known for their work upgrading playgrounds for children across the nation.
However, more volunteers are needed to help build the new playground.
The North Beach Community Association currently has about 40 volunteers.
This one-day project will consist of assembling playground pieces, mixing concrete and assisting other workers.
Playground Build Day will begin from 7:45 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Dec. 8.
The playground is located on Sandbar Avenue, providing an opportunity for more family activities to take place on North Beach.
