Aging rocker Ted Nugent wasn’t happy about how the midterm elections turned out in his home state of Michigan.
It led the 69-year-old Nugent to take to Facebook to express his frustration in profane terms.
“Real God country family Michiganiacs are heartbroke that more of us want the once great state of Michigan to turn into a California s***hole,” he wrote on the day after the election. “Downright insane cultural suicide. Thanks for nothing ***holes.”
Nugent was venting after Democrat Gretchen Whitmer claimed the state’s governor race against Republican challenger Bill Schuette. Democratic U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow won her fourth term. She beat veteran John James, who had strong support from Republican party regulars.
The rocker’s views resonated on Facebook, where he earned 1,511 shares and more than 3,000 comments.
“Mind blowing and saddening, Uncle Ted,” one Facebook reader said. “Great states like Michigan turning this way. These people deserve the California disaster they’re voting for. Unfortunately, we reap the damage done by these brain dead sheep.”
And others were urging Nugent to run for office.
“Actually Ted, I blame you,” another Facebook reader said. “You could have moved back home, ran for governor and swept the state as a conservative Republican.”
Nugent has unsuccessfully pushed for entry into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in recent months as his major cause.
But now, it appears he’s back to politics.
And who knows? Stranger things have happened then a rocker taking a political career.
