Organizers with Corpus Christi Veterans Stand Down say they see and are aware of a crisis in our community with veterans living on the streets.
The many agencies that were present at the fifth annual activity are trying to find solutions to the homelessness problem. Others partner with the City of Corpus Christi and Nueces County to tackle this problem.
To help battle this problem, organizers say they do their best to reach out, locate and identify every homeless veteran in the community. They hope to assist them with housing, education, benefits, and health care.
The Veterans Stand Down event provided haircuts, flu shots, housing information and education as well.
