Life is good these days if you are Tony Romo.
Not only has the former Dallas Cowboys made a neat transition into the top analyst slot with CBS for its NFL games.
But he’s also inherited Jon Gruden’s old gig as a pitchman for Corona beer. Gruden gave it up as he became the Oakland Raiders’ new coach this season.
Romo’s ad features him as available on a Corona hotline. Callers will receive a smidgen of analysis and a chance to win prizes if they call Romo’s telephone line.
It was posted online over the weekend and appears destined for heavy play during the next few weeks.
But here’s an advance glimpse.
Romo has the opportunity to do a lot of cool things these days. Having your own beer commercial might rank at the top.
“I am thrilled to join the team and man the Corona Hotline,” Romo told the craft beer newsletter Brewbound. “Between fantasy match-ups and waiting each week for your favorite team’s game, football brings a lot of excitement. I am ready to help fans deal with the highs and lows of this football season, so they can kick back and enjoy with friends and family.”
