Two teens were evacuated from a Southside house that was on fire today. Around 1:30 p.m., firefighters were called to a house on fire on the 5100 block of Cascade Drive.

Captain James Brown with the Corpus Christi Fire Department said when his men arrived at the house, they could see smoke coming from the roof.  Firefighters took approximately 30 minutes to control the fire.  He told our reporter that they had to locate the fire first.

Worried about the weather conditions being hard on his crew, he upgraded the fire to make sure he had back up should any of his men not feel well or suffered from heat exhaustion.

The fire department has not yet determined whether the house is livable.
