The start of the school year is just around the corner for most Coastal Bend students.H.E.B. and the United Way need your help providing school supplies for needy children in our area.Dozens of volunteers were out at the H.E.B. Plus on Saratoga to kick off the "Operation Supply Our Students" campaign. They were stuffing bags full of school supplies. If you’d like to help Operation S.O.S., you can buy one of those bags during your next trip to the H.E.B Plus on Saratoga, H.E.B at Moore Plaza, H.E.B at Roberts and Alameda and the H.E.B in Portland. You can also donate to Operation S.O.S. by going online at uwcb.org or Text "SOS" to 91999. Follow the prompt and choose the amount you’d like to give. Another option is taking a $1, $3 or $5 tear pad in the check out aisles.Last year, more than 10,000 students across 37 school districts received supplies in 2017. This year, organizers hope to help more than 45,000 students across the Coastal Bend area.
