Several units of a self-storage facility are destroyed after a fire.

Firefighters were called to the Crosstown Mini-Storage on Port Avenue around 10:00 am Friday morning after smoke was seen coming from one of the units.

When they arrived, thick black smoke was coming from several units on the property. Firefighters battled the heat as well as the fire. It took just under 30 minutes to control the fire.

Six units were destroyed, and another four had water and smoke damage.

No one was hurt and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
