Young sailors from around the world are testing their skills on Corpus Christi Bay this week.
This year’s Youth Sailing World Championship kicked off Sunday evening with a parade and opening ceremonies.
The 382 sailors from around the world all met in the American Bank Center as a prelude to the competition.
They’ll be competing in the waters off of the Bayfront through Friday.
It’s been 22 years since this competition was held in the United States.
The championship is considered the biggest youth sailing event in the world.
Racing begins Monday.
