A Corpus Christi man is facing several serious charges after he allegedly ran over a group of people and led police on a chase.

The incident started inside the parking lot of a gentleman’s club located in the 6400 block of SPID just before 2:30 am Saturday morning.

According to police, 33-year-old Alex Garza had to be escorted out of a men’s club and when he left the parking lot, he struck several people.

When police officers arrived at the scene, they saw several people injured and got information about the fleeing vehicle. Later, officers say they located Garza’s vehicle and tried to pull it over, but the vehicle didn’t stop.

Garza stopped at his residence, police said, and officers added Garza started to resist. Garza was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with deadly weapon, DWI, evading arrested, and resisting arrest.

His bond was set at $205,000.
