Governor Greg Abbott authorized Texas Flags in Nueces County to be flown at half staff in honor of the life and service of Judge Robert "Bobby" Balderas.

Balderas passed away yesterday after battling liver cancer.

The governor mad the announcement today after a request from Nueces County Judge Loyd Neal.

According to the governor’s office, flags should return to full staff on July 19, the day after Balderas’ funeral service.
