The community of Aransas Pass have still been in recovery since Hurricane Harvey. Teachers and Coaches at A.C. Blunt Middle School and Aransas Pass High School have taken matters into their own hands and built two "food pantry’s."

One of the food pantry’s is in front of A.C. Blunt Middle School near the parking lot. The one near the high school is right by the tennis courts, both off of Demory Ln.

These food pantry’s need non-perishable items such as beans, soup, cereal, boxed food, and even toiletry items.

Aransas Pass H.S. Principal Wayne Bennett says, "anything like as you can see in here that, that can handle the heat, you know it’s kind of hot out here but, things that people can take and have it easy to prepare. And again won’t go bad as it sits in the pantry."

Each food pantry says "Take what you need, Give what you can."

"People in the community can come up and give what they can give, and take what they need. And that’s really how it works, it’s the concept of it," says Bennett.

The food pantry’s are always open and need help restocking of items.
