Long-recovery efforts due to Hurricane Harvey are still underway. For some, that has meant sleeping under leaky roofs.

Today, the United Way of the Coastal Bend presented Habitat for Humanity a check for $40,000 to cover the cost of seven roof repairs. Homeowners of the seven houses did not have insurance when the storm hit and were all denied help by FEMA.

One home belonged to 75-year-old Petra Conseulo Rodriguez. The $40,000 check was presented to Habitat for Humanity while workers were rebuilding her roof, the last of the seven to be redone.
