A Nueces County Sheriff’s deputy was arrested earlier this week after Corpus Christi police say he discharged his weapon in an apartment.

The incident happened July 4 at the Icon Apartments on the 6900 block of Saratoga.

According to police, deputy Ian Rosales and his wife were arguing in an apartment. When Rosales walked away, the wife told police she heard a gunshot. Police found a weapon in the residence and arrested Rosales for discharging a firearm in certain municipalities, a Class A misdemeanor.

No one was injured, according to police.

The Nueces County Human Resources Department confirmed Rosales is employed with the sheriff’s office.

Rosales was sworn in as a deputy in October of 2017, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s department.

We have reached out to the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office for further information and are awaiting a response.
