There was some added excitement at the end of last night’s Corpus Christi Hooks game at Whataburger field.
Just after the game ended, grounds crews were preparing for the evening fireworks show, when an opossum ran out of a tarp that was being used to cover the field.
A grounds keeper threw a shirt over the opossum in an attempt to catch the animal, but it got away.
A few moments later, a quick thinking team member used a helmet to snag the marsupial, who was then escorted from the field.
