The Texas Department of Public Safety made arrest for sale or purchase of a child after DPS Special Agents executed a warrant in Nueces County on Friday, June 29.

At approximately 6 a.m., DPS Special Agents executed a drug search warrant inside the city limits of Corpus Christi. Agents located a male child, 7, who was allegedly sold and purchased.  Further investigation revealed two more female children, ages 2 and 3, who were in the process of being sold.

The mother – Esmeralda Garza, 29, of Corpus Christi – was arrested and charged with sale or purchase of a child, which is a third-degree felony. A male and female were also arrested as a result of a drug investigation; additional charges are expected to be filed. All three individuals were booked into the Nueces County Jail.

The case remains under investigation.
