CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — The Mayor’s 4th of July Big Bang Celebration is right around the corner and the Big Bang Committee is excited to feature a day full of free events for the whole family.
The following are scheduled for Wednesday, July 4:
Family Fun Zone
The Big Bang Family Fun and Music Zone presented by CITGO will be open from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. between Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park and the Great Lawn at Water’s Edge Park, 602 Shoreline Blvd.
Parade
The Flint Hills Resources Parade will start promptly at 6 p.m. The route will begin at I-37 & Shoreline Blvd. and travel southbound to Park St.
Harbor Bridge Light Show
The Harbor Bridge Light Show experience brought to you by Malkan Interactive, will start at 9 p.m. Tune your radio to the following stations for choreographed music: 92.7FM, 95.5FM, and 1440AM.
Fireworks
The H-E-B Firework Show will be set off from a barge located in the Corpus Christi Bay just north of the People’s Street T-Head. The firework show is choreographed to music and will begin at 9:30 p.m.
Road Closures
No parking areas and road closures will be in place by Wednesday, July 4 at 7:00 a.m.
Shoreline Boulevard/ Downtown
Northbound and southbound Shoreline Boulevard will be closed between Cooper’s Alley and IH 37. Northbound Shoreline Boulevard traffic will detour at Cooper’s Alley to northbound Water Street. Southbound IH-37 traffic heading to Shoreline Boulevard will detour to southbound Water Street.
Some one-way side streets between Water Street and Shoreline Boulevard will be converted to two-way traffic to allow local access to buildings and business. Those streets are Twigg Street, Starr Street, Peoples Street, and William Street.
Street parking will not be allowed on both sides of Shoreline Boulevard along the street closures and towing will be strictly enforced.
North Beach
The Police Department will provide closures and/or alternate traffic routes after the firework display, if necessary, to move traffic out of North Beach and onto the highway.
NO PARKING, TOW AWAY ZONES WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED IN ALL AREAS.
Park & Ride
The Corpus Christi RTA complimentary Park & Ride service will be available from 11:30 a.m. to Close. Coolers and lawn chairs are allowed on the bus for this event.

Drop-Off Location:
Water Street between John Sartain and William St.
