Fighting crime, keeping the community safe and… wrestling alligators?

Officers with the Aransas Pass Police Department seem to be able to do it all. Check out this video of officers wrestling an 8-foot alligator at the Walmart in Aransas Pass overnight.

"Officers found this little 8-foot guy trying to sneak out of the pond for an after midnight shop at Walmart this morning," the post said.

Captain Pierce with the Aransas Pass Police Department said a customer shopping at Walmart called authorities after spotting the gator in the Walmart parking lot near the grocery side. Officers called Texas Parks and Wildlife and assisted a game warden is capturing the angry alligator. No one was injured and the gator is now in the custody of Texas Parks and Wildlife.

Captain Pierce said they do not see alligators too often around Aransas Pass, but he thinks this one has been spotted before in the area. He says there is a collection pond near the Walmart that the gator was trying to escape back into when spotted by officers.
