Today, Friday June 22, is Take Your Dog to Work Day!
Pet Sitters International began the annual day in 1999 as a way to promote pet adoptions and it’s grown from there. At least 20% of workers will celebrate today by taking their dogs to the office.

According to a study, 37% of Americans would sacrifice benefits, including vacation time, for a dog-friendly work place. 32% of pet owners said they’d be more productive at work if their pet was there and 44% of employees would actually consider a career move to work at a pet-friendly company.
Only a small percentage of employers allow pets at work.
However, in honor of Take Your Dog to Work Day, here are some local shelter dogs in desperate need of forever homes. All these dogs can be found at the Corpus Christi Animal Care Facility at 2626 Holly Road.
