Aloft Corpus Christi and the Corpus Christi Sharks are hosting a Summer Fun Drive for CASA to collect items to provide children in foster care with a summer vacation full of laughter and fun; an opportunity to enjoy being a child.

Currently items can be dropped off at Aloft Corpus Christi, located at 5117 Embassy Drive between 7am-7pm.

Those who donate a new item valued at $10+ will receive a ticket to the upcoming Sharks soccer game on Friday, June 22nd.

Types of items to donate include:
* Tickets to Area Attractions
* Gift cards for: Swimsuits, Activities, Treats
* Outdoor Games (new items such as sporting equipment, outdoor toys, etc)

The significance of donating these items to CASA is that it is the advocates, someone the child knows, not just passing along items but taking the time to engage with the child to go on an outing to create life lasting memories with a positive role model.

On Tuesday, June 19th from 5:30 pm-9:30 pm, Aloft will host a Summer Fun Mixer for CASA at their WXYZ Lounge. For every $10+ new item donation, in addition to Sharks tickets, attendees will have a chance to receive a one night stay at Aloft Corpus Christi along with other giveaways. A special meet and greet is planned with the Sharks coaching staff, players and mascot. Guests will enjoy drink specials until 7:30 p.m. and live music starting at 7 p.m. Corner Bakery is providing sweets.

The Summer Fun Drive for CASA will continue through Thursday, June 21st. The Sharks will host a CASA Night at the Sharks on Friday, June 22nd. On the soccer field prior to the start of the game, Aloft will present CASA with the donations.

A few donations that will also be encouraged are suitcases. Cathy Villafuerte of Blue Canary Marketing, has put together a campaign called "Let’s Roll."

Cathy is asking the community to bring suitcases filled with toiletry items, or any items you would need when you need to stay overnight somewhere.

All of these donations will go straight to the advocates of CASA and directly to a foster child who needs it.
