The Bee County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to pay extra attention this summer after a deputy pulled a large snake from a bathroom vanity at a residence there.

Deputy Scotten removed a blue indigo snake from a home on County Road 407 in Bee County, a post on social media said. The sheriff’s office said these snakes are not venomous and will actually eat venomous snakes. The blue indigo snake was released back into the brush unharmed.

There has been an increase in snake sightings and calls this year due to the lack of rain. The sheriff’s office said if you encounter a snake in or around your residence, you can contact them for assistance.

And as for Deputy Scotten, not all heroes wear capes.
