A man is recovering in the hospital following a rollover accident at the base of the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge.
The accident happened just after 12:00 pm Sunday afternoon along the northbound lanes of U.S. 181.
According to police, the driver of a pickup truck was heading northbound and trying to pass up an 18-wheeler that was getting on the highway.
The driver of the trucked entered the fire right lane and clipped the 18-wheeler, causing the truck to roll over and land upside down. The driver of the truck was still trapped inside the truck when first responders arrived.
When the driver was freed from the wreckage police say he was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the truck will be cited for causing the crash.
