A stolen truck was found on North Beach today buried in so much sand, a wrecker company turned down a call for help.
The truck was stolen sometime last night from a home on the south side of town, according to Senior Officer Kearney with the Corpus Christi Police Department. The thief or thieves then drove the truck to North Beach where the truck became stuck in the sand.
Senior Officer Kearney said they believe the owner of the truck did not make it too difficult for someone to steal the vehicle.
"Words to the wise, don’t leave your keys in your car," Kearney said. Officers believe this is how the thieves were able to take the truck.
A wrecker service did finally get the truck out of the sand. Officers do not have any suspects at this time.
