The Nueces County Clerk’s Office has announced the ‘Thank A Vet’ program, offering service members and veterans special discounts at local businesses.
Through the program, veterans are provided a free ID card that allows them to receive discounts at more than 100 participating businesses.
According to the program’s web page, the veteran ID card is issued after that veteran files his or her DD-214 Separation papers with the County Clerk’s Office. Both the card and the filing are free of charge to the Veteran, and DD-214 papers are non-public records and are filed with the clerk’s office for safekeeping.
