Fugitive Dr. Sandoval in custody in Houston

Fugitive Dr. Jaime Sandoval has been taken into custody in Houston after being wanted out of Nueces County on multiple warrants. 

Sandoval was found and arrested in El Salvador on May 16, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Authorities received a tip that Sandoval was in San Salvador, El Salvador. U.S. Marshals worked with in-country authorities, who were able to locate and arrest Sandoval.

Officers with the Houston Police Department confirmed that they took Sandoval into custody on May 31. 

Sandoval was scheduled to appear in court in Nueces County on May 2 and did not show up. A warrant was issued for his arrest the next day. 

Sandoval was taken into custody with four outstanding warrants from the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office, three of which are for sexual assault and violation of bond conditions. One warrant is for intoxication assault with a vehicle.
