Police investigating after body found near convenience store

A body was found near a convenience store this morning, prompting an investigation by the Corpus Christi Police Department.

The body was found on the 1600 block of Leopard St. near Brownlee on the side of a convenience store. Lt. Henry Sepulveda with the CCPD said a man was found face down next to the EZ Stop.

Lt. Sepulveda would not say if they believe foul play was involved, but did state that the Criminal Investigative Division is working on the case. Crime scene tape was around the area throughout the morning. 

The man appeared to be homeless, according to Lt. Sepulveda.
