A crime trend of break ins and burglaries continues in the industrial area near the Corpus Christi International Airport after yet another incident over Memorial Day weekend.

The most recent break in happened at Pickett System on Leopard Street, a subsidiary of Strike Construction, LLC. The operations manager called police early Tuesday morning, and tells KRIS 6 News that burglars damaged a fence and stole dozens of tools.

This is at least the sixth break in in the area since the beginning of May. Throughout the month several local businesses have been targeted.

Police are looking at surveillance video from a business that was previously targeted for clues. Police say they are also advising businesses in the area to increase security.
