Police in Corpus Christi have arrested three students of a local high school on charges of allegedly making terroristic threats on social media.
On Wednesday, officials with Corpus Christi Independent School District Police Department said they became aware of a video of a school threat posted to the social media site Instagram.
Three students from King High School were arrested Wednesday on charges of making terroristic threats as a result of the video by CCISD Police. They’ve been booked at Nueces County Jail.
The students arrests follow an unrelated incident earlier Wednesday morning at the school also involving a reported threat. Police said a female student, also a student at King High School, discovered a threat written inside a girls restroom.
The student reported the threat to staff, who contacted CCISD Police. An investigation was ongoing at time of writing. Meanwhile, the school has sent home a letter with students describing the incident.
In addition, school officials said additional security will be added to the campus for the remainder of the school year.
