The Nueces County Health Department is now waiting for test results on a possible case of Hantavirus.

Medics and other first responders in Flour Bluff were wearing isolation suits when they answered a medical call in the 500 block of Claride Street off of Waldron Road.

We’re told one person was taken to the hospital but no other details have been released.

The Hantavirus is spread through the urine and droppings of mice, rats, and other rodents.

It can cause a deadly lung disease and there have been 45 confirmed Hantavirus cases here in Texas since January 2017.

The health department says the test results will be back in about a week.
