A man found guilty yesterday in a fatal hit-and-run that left a Port Aransas man dead has been sentenced to life in prison.
Jason Auvenshine, yesterday, was convicted on one count of Accident Involving Death and one count of Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. Today he received life sentences on both of those convictions.
In March of 2017, Auvenshine fatally ran over Brandon Phelps in Port Aransas.
Police said Auvenshine initially left the scene of the accident, but returned later.
