Corpus Christi, TX – Spectrum Cable has announced local channel changes affecting the City of Corpus Christi, Del Mar College and local Public Access Channels today, May 15, 2018. All Spectrum customers will now be required to have a digital box to view the four-government cable franchise provisioned cable channels.

“Though Spectrum uses our public right-of-way, we cannot control channel changes or provide any consumer protections due to a state issued cable franchise,” said Kim Womack, Communication Director. “As noted in the required notice, Spectrum is prioritizing many other services over local programming by moving the government channels to a public affairs neighborhood in the 1300 channel range. Several other cities are facing the same situation and in discussions regarding possible action,” added Womack.

The channels will now be located at the following locations beginning on Tuesday, May 15, 2018:

  • CCTV / Government Channel – 1300
  • Del Mar College TV / Higher Education Access – 1301
  • Channel 10 / Public Access – 1302
  • Channel 18 / Public Access – 1304

CCTV Channel 20 is also internet streamed online at www.cctexas.com. For more information please contact Spectrum Cable at 1-844-278-3409. This change does not affect Grande Communications or AT&T customers.
