New details have been released in Monday night’s fatal shooting on the city’s southside.

Krystal Obanyoun, 31, was arrested in connection with the death of her 32-year old ex-boyfriend Lon Alan Rives.

According to the probable cause statement filed by the Corpus Christi Police, just after 7 p.m., Obanyoun called 911 and said Rives was beating her and that she shot him shortly after.

Minutes later, officers arrived at Obanyoun’s home on the 4400 block of Silver Hollow Drive. According to the report, officers found Rives dead in a pool of blood on the living room floor. Above Rives was a damaged television which indicated there was some sort of struggle in the living room. After detectives processed the scene, they collected cash that was taken out by Rives. That money was placed into evidence.

Meanwhile, the Nueces County Medical Examiner has determined that Rives died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Obanyoun is being held in Nueces County Jail on $1 million bail.
