Coordinators for the Harbor Bridge Project announced today that one exit on Corpus Christi’s North Beach will be permanently closed next month.

Beginning May 15, 2018 the Beach Avenue exit will be closed.  Motorists must utilize the Burleson Street exit for access to North Beach.

Project coordinators say additional short-term closures will affect various routes in the North Beach area of the Harbor Bridge Project work zone.    A detailed listing of closures is included below.

Short-Term Closures:

Beginning May 8, 2018 to June 8, 2018 various daily lane closures will take place on the northbound US 181 frontage road between Burleson Street and Beach Avenue.  Detour routes will be established and traffic signs will assist with navigating motorists through alternative routes.

Permanent Closure:

Beginning May 15, 2018 the Beach Avenue exit will be closed.  Motorists must utilize the Burleson Street exit for access to North Beach.

Coordinators say all work will take place in the North Beach area of the project work zone and is weather permitting.

Project coordinators urge motorists to be aware of the lane closures, to consider using alternate routes, to follow all traffic control devices, and to slow down in the work zones.
