The Corpus Christi City Council has appointed Everett Albert Roy, who is a Kleberg Bank Vice President, to oversee District One.

They decided after publicly interviewing an assistant store manager Julian Antonio Firo, photographer Carrie Robertson Meyer, and Miller High School student Gilbert Zeke Trevino.

Edward Darrell Wells, II submitted an application for the District 1 seat but was disqualified after the City of Corpus Christi found he didn’t meet all of their requirements.

Roy will replace Carolyn Vaughn who stepped down from the Corpus Christi City Council on February 28th to take a spot on the Nueces County Commissioners Court.

Roy is the Senior Vice President of Kleberg bank. He’s married with four children. He served in the military and most recently on Leadership Corpus Christi.  He wants to focus on returning constituents calls immediately and being nonpartisan.
