The American Bank Center was transformed from a hockey arena to a rodeo pit in less than 48 hours.

Hundreds of volunteers have spent the weekend getting the facility ready for the Buc Days Rodeo, which starts this coming Thursday night.

And we got a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations this afternoon.

Johnny Philipello, President and CEO of Buc Days, said,"The ice came out on Friday and dirt was in here Saturday."

"We’re now getting prepared we’ve got the Chevrolet truck going up, the announcer stand going up, and the pins will be going up tomorrow, so a lot is happening," Philipello continued.

That signature Chevy truck hangs about 80 feet above the arena floor. The American Bank Center seats about 7,000 people in this configuration.

Plenty of tickets are still available for all four days of the rodeo. They’re available online at bucdays.com.

KRIS 6 News will also be televising the *Buc Days Night Parade" which is Saturday night, on May 5th
