Some of the military graves at the historic Bayview Cemetery on the city’s north side got a little TLC today.

About 30 volunteers from NAS Corpus Christi’s CPO-365 program spent the day cleaning up grave sites and fixing damaged headstones.

Some of the graves date back to the late 1800s, and have been in desperate need of touching up and repair work.

The Chief and First Class Petty Officer volunteers say they were more than happy to lend a hand.

“It just gives us a great honor to just come out. At the very least, to make sure their resting place is clean and it looks nice for generations to come,” said Petty Officer First Class Koleea Flagg.

The volunteers said this event is just one of the many community projects CPO 365 is involved in.
