There are new details about a Brewster Street Ice House restaurant planned to be built on the city’s south side.

New restaurant coming to Corpus Christi Southside

Since news of the next restaurant was posted on social media, the owner of the popular restaurant, Bill Durrill, wanted to share more news of what’s planned for the restaurant, if the City of Corpus Christi’s Development Services Department gives the final approval.

Durrill says right now they are looking at to nine to ten-month timeline weather permitting and are shooting for an opening date to be set in Spring 2019.

When asked if the new Southside Brewster Street Ice House will have bands playing at the location, Durrill said," We started designing it and the city requirements to meet all the codes was untenable."

Durrill said they scrapped the plans to provide music at the same level at the SEA District restaurant and wants to focus on bar/restaurant experience the current one over at the SEA District has and make a better playground for children.

"We want to Brewster Street Ice House Southside location to have the same family-friendly restaurant concept and atmosphere,"Durrill continued.

The City of Corpus Christi’s Development Services Department says they will review zoning changes and permits required for the project next week.
