CORPUS CHRISTI – The 81st celebration of Buc Days is just around the corner.

Since the completion of Water’s Edge Park, crews promise more room for carnival activities.

“We’re finally going to be able to use the park as it was intended. We’re actually going to put a stage right here on the Bayfront. It will be a big 30-foot stage and we’re going to do a lot of activities with it,” Johnny Philipello said.

Some of those activities will include a live performance from a local celebrity, Roger Creager.

The addition of a group from Port Aransas will also really beef up the Buc Days theme.

“The event was founded as a pirate festival so we’re bringing in the pirates from the Red Dragon Pirate Ship from Port Aransas. They’ll be here every day interacting with families and kids,” Philipello said.

The Buc Days carnival begins May 3rd and runs through May 13th. Daily admission tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children.

The popular “night parade” will take place Saturday, May 5th. Come say hi to the KRIS 6 News crew!
