World Series Trophy on display at Hooks games

The Houston Astros made franchise history with their first World Series championship title in 2017. The win came just months after Hurricane Harvey devastated South Texas, bringing life and hope to a community struggling to rebuild.

The win and the Commissioner’s Trophy became a signal of strength to the Houston community and beyond. The trophy has made a quick tour through the Coastal Bend area, but not all local fans were able to see it.

Today and tomorrow at the Hooks game at Whataburger Field, April 17 and 18, all fans in attendance will be able to see and take a picture with the "guest of honor," the Commissioner’s Trophy.

"The Astros certainly earned it in 2017, and our Coastal Bend community has earned this opportunity to connect with history," Hooks General Manager Wes Weigle said. "Everyone who wants one will get a picture with our guest of honor. This commitment to the fans speaks to the generosity of our front office, gameday staffers, the Aramark crew, and the Houston Astros organization. We will stay open all night to make this happen."

The Commissioner’s Trophy will be showcased in the VIP deck, which is elevated behind the right-field fence, so fans won’t miss the game while they wait in line. Season members will be able to use a "fast lane" to take photos with the World Series Trophy.

There are still tickets left for both games. Click here for more information.

First pitch for Monday night’s game against the Arkansas Travelers is set for 7:05 p.m.
