The Del Mar Board of Regents has accepted the resignation of Guy Watts.
It happened late Monday afternoon during a special Board of Regents meeting.
Watts wasn’t there because he submitted his resignation last week. He had served as District Four Regent since 2001.
Fellow Regents censured Watts in April 2016 over an editorial where he described Del Mar College as a sea of mediocrity swamped by unprepared students.
He also wrote that immigrant students were hindering education for prepared students.
