Police are searching for the person responsible for the shooting of a woman overnight.
Around 1:30 this morning, shots were heard in the Moon Plaza area, off of Ayers Street.
When Corpus Christi Police arrived, they found an unconscious woman in a car parked behind Wendy’s.
That woman had a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and was taken to the hospital.
Her condition is unknown at this time, but police do tell us she is in her forties.
Witnesses say they saw a man flee the scene in a SUV, possibly a suburban, either black or beige in color.
CCPD has yet to be able to speak to the victim, but detectives are on the scene of the crime to gather more information.
Bullet casings were found in the Moon Plaza parking lot.
Detectives are waiting to view security footage from the cameras of nearby businesses.
