"To align with the timing of the anticipated ownership changes at Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi, the trustee has elected to push back the waterpark opening day to May 26th, Memorial Day Weekend," according to a news release from the water park.
"This will allow the park to follow its extensive annual inspection process, including an independent third party inspection by an engineer," the email continued.
The message was sent out by their Winter D. Prosapio, Schlitterbahn’s Corporate Director of Communications late Monday afternoon.
"We are actively contacting those groups who have waterpark tickets for dates prior to May 26th in Corpus Christi. We are offering options at our other Schlitterbahn properties or on later dates during our 2018 season," the statement continued.
The news release also added the Veranda Restaurant, hotel and golf course will remain open.
