Corpus Christi Independent School District Police are investigating a photo that is being circulated on social media, showing a man holding a rifle, making a threat against “CHS” and warning people not to go to school.

Parents and students at Carroll High School have circulated the photo locally, but CCISD Police say the school is safe and that the threat does not appear to be directed at any local school.

CCISD Police Chief Kirby Warnke said that the photo, which is believed to originated on the east coast, has been reported to SnapChat.

Warnke said that the New York Police Department, had also reported the photo to the social media site.

CCISD Police will continue to investigate the source of the image, and Warnke says there will be additional security measures put into place as a precautionary measure.
