LyondellBasell recently announced donations totaling $85,820 to the United Way of the Coastal Bend.

According to LyondellBasell, as a result of a successful local campaign, United Way of the Coastal Bend will be better equipped to assist children and youth, families and neighborhoods, as well as seniors and people rebuilding their lives.

“The work United Way does in our communities is far reaching and makes a lasting impact to those most in need,” said Bob Patel, LyondellBasell CEO and chairman of the management board. “Once again, I am humbled by the generosity of our employees across the U.S. who contributed during the company’s annual United Way campaign to help improve lives in their communities. They truly exemplify our company’s mission to be a good neighbor through their volunteerism and financial contributions.”

Alicia Matus, site manager for the LyondellBasell Corpus Christi Complex, said her employees are devoted volunteers and supporters of United Way because they see firsthand the impact their involvement makes in the community.

“We are amazed by the generosity of LyondellBasell employees. Because of their gifts, we see lives changed every day. They provide that ‘hand up’ which results in a better community for all,” said Catrina Wilson, president and CEO of United Way of the Coastal Bend.

In 2017, LyondellBasell held United Way campaigns at 23 company sites across the U.S. and raised a total of $2.3 million that will support 26 United Way chapters.
