The teen killed in a hit and run last week will be laid to rest today.

Rai-ane Garza was just sixteen years old, and a sophomore at King High School.

There will be a viewing at 10:00 this morning, at the Believe Church.

Her burial will follow at Seaside Cemetery.

According to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s office, Rai-ane died after she was hit by a car while crossing the street at the intersection of Staples Street and Mustang Trail.

Another girl injured in the accident, 15-year-old King student Madicyn Knott, is currently at Spohn Shoreline hospital, and was recently moved from the ICU to a regular room.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 42-year-old Elton Wayne Holmes, Jr. shortly after the accident.

Holmes faces two counts of accident involving injury or death, and has had his bond revoked.
