Nueces County District Court Judge Sandra Watts has ruled Elton Holmes Jr. violated his pretrial bond conditions and has revoked his bond.
Holmes on Thursday admitted to a probation officer that he had violated the terms of his release by drinking alcohol. The probation official informed police of the violation, and Holmes was taken into custody Thursday evening.
16 -year-old Rai-Ane Garza was killed and 15-year-old Madicyn Knott was hospitalizedafter Holmes allegedly hit them as they were crossing the street near King High School on March 27.
A risk assessment shows Holmes is a flight and safety risk.
Judge Watts says she will not reinstate his bond.
